The Aylsham Local History Society welcomes those with an interest in the history of the town and provides:

 Evening lectures :

Monthly October–March at the Friendship Hall, Cawston Road.

Autumn Course :

Ten weekly lectures from September.

Issued three times a year.

Books :

Published about Aylsham from time to time. Our new book, Sail and Storm - The Aylsham Navigation ,has won two awards from the Railway and Canal Historical Society:  the Transport History Book of the Year and the Canal Book of the Year. It was published in September 2012, is on sale via this website (contact alhs) and from local booksellers, including Barnwells in the Market Place, Aylsham: £15 + £2,50 for post and package in UK.

Research Facilities :

Courtesy of the Aylsham Town Archives, 10–12 am on Tuesday mornings in the Archives room of Aylsham Town Hall.

Research Group:
A Research Group has been formed recently to delve into topics of local interest.  If you are interested in joining then please contact them through the website (contact alhs).
